This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Takeout or dine-in, Nine Thai brings the sweet heat of curry that warms me to my core. As a drunken noodle truther, I was taken aback by their curry menu and haven't looked back since. Their yellow curry is my absolute favorite, and to my liking, perfectly spicy at level 3. The serving size is generous, and I often find myself overly full, but unable to stop until the last drop of curry has soaked up the last grain of rice (and departed my spoon). The takeout travels extremely well, but I encourage you to stop in. The service is quick and kind, and the little shop is a cozy respite from the trolley tracks. I never have room for sticky mango rice at the table, but I always take an order to go.

The people and the food was amazing! It reminds me of being in Thailand, the friendly and warm lit atmosphere and the delicious authentic food. They even celebrated my momβs birthday with a fruit tart and candles! My recommendation is the pad thai with chicken! (a little spice levels 2 or 3 if you can handle it ;)

Awful food. I've eaten here twice, and this evening will be the last. The food took almost an hour. I ordered Spring rolls, tom yum soup, and a Thai iced coffee. Absolutely uncalled for and overpriced. The soup tasted terrible, and the spring rolls had so much lettuce that it was unbearable.

We had a wonderful experience at this small little Thai restaurant in Brewerytown area of Philly. Very kind service and top-notch cooking. Truly enjoyed everything we had. But be careful with the spice levels you ask for, they are not kidding with the "no return " declarations they have for level 4 and 5! We ordered 4 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Don't forget to get a bottle of wine or beer; it is BYOB.

I had a tofu drunken noodle, the Mr a chicken pad Thai. The same dishes we have tasted at different Thai places 100 times! Mine was delish in its own way: not smoky tasting which I love, not basil tasting, but I always like that flavor. Oily though. And full of vegetables. Not salty. Just right. Every table had a crusty, empty jar of chili paste. Very gross. I asked for a βrefillβ knowing the waiter would return with a clean jar and some fresh chili past but guess what? Same disgusting jar and crusty (sunken into the jar) spoon! Now with chili paste dripping down the side! Super disturbing and unsanitary. Restaurant was clean, did not use bathrooms. Waitstaff was inattentive and stayed in the kitchen THE ENTIRE MEAL chatting with friend and playing endless loops of house disco music. We were the only table occupied and no take out orders came or left in the half hour we stayed. Iβd probably go back. CLEAN YOUR CHILI PASTE JARS PLEASE!
